The Crimson Formula Genre: Psychological Thriller Dr. Marcus Kane had created a chemical compound that could instantly erase specific traumatic memories without damaging the surrounding cognitive structure. He called it the Crimson Formula. To the world, it was the greatest psychiatric breakthrough of the century. To Marcus, it was a tool to clean up the messy errors of human experience. His first official patient was a young woman named Sarah, who had survived a horrific apartment fire that claimed her family. She lived in a constant state of panic, paralyzed by the smell of smoke or the sound of sirens. Marcus administered the dosage, and within three hours, Sarah woke up smiling, completely unable to remember why she had ever been afraid. The trial was deemed a flawless success. Months later, Marcus began to experience severe, unexplainable episodes of paranoia. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw a vision of a car crashing into a concrete barrier, followed by the sound of a child screaming. Yet, his personal medical records indicated he had never been in an accident. Desperate for answers, Marcus decided to run a deep-scan analysis on his own neural pathway signatures using his lab's quantum diagnostic computer. The screen mapped his brain, highlighting areas of chemical intervention. To his absolute horror, the diagnostic program revealed that his brain had been injected with the Crimson Formula over fifty times in the past three years. The computer traced the deleted files, recovering a hidden journal entry written in his own voice: “Marcus, if you are reading this, you have forgotten again. You killed your daughter in a car crash three years ago. You built this formula to forget the guilt, but it keeps wearing off. Do not trust the silence.” #story
