The Oak and the Willow A massive oak tree stood next to a small willow tree near a riverbank. The oak tree was incredibly proud of its thick trunk and deep roots. It often mocked the willow for being thin and weak."Look at you," the oak sneered. "You bend and sway at the slightest breeze. You have no true power." The willow remained silent and simply smiled.One night, a ferocious hurricane swept through the valley. The proud oak stood rigid, using all its might to fight against the roaring winds. It refused to yield an inch.The willow, however, did not fight. It simply bent, flexed, and swayed gracefully with the powerful gusts of wind.By morning, the storm passed. The magnificent oak tree lay completely uprooted and destroyed on the ground. The flexible willow tree stood perfectly intact, upright once again. The Moral: True strength is not about being rigid or unbreakable. Absolute rigidity shatters under extreme pressure.
